This Privacy Policy explains how Pet Moods collects, uses, stores, and protects personal, pet-related, and device data when you use the Pet Moods mobile app, website, and related services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to operate the app, secure accounts, and deliver analysis features.
- Account data, such as your name, email address, and sign-in identifiers.
- Pet profile data, such as pet name, species, breed, age, feeding details, and routine information you enter.
- User content, such as pet audio recordings, pet photos, dressing-room images, barcode scans, marketplace selections, and notes you choose to upload or save.
- Subscription and purchase records, including product identifiers, purchase tokens, subscription tier, and renewal status processed through Google Play.
- Technical and device data, such as app version, basic device identifiers, operating system information, local app settings, and service logs required to operate, secure, and improve the service.
- Analytics events about feature usage, such as profile creation, mood logging, marketplace actions, and subscription flow activity.
2. Sensitive Data Handling
We treat pet media, account credentials, purchase data, and device-linked service data as sensitive. We use this data only for legitimate product functions and internal operations.
- Audio, images, and other uploaded content are used to run requested analysis, synchronization, try-on rendering, and account-linked features.
- Sensitive data is not sold to third parties.
- We limit access to stored data to systems and service providers needed to operate the app.
- We use access controls, managed cloud services, and transport encryption to reduce unauthorized access risk.
- Where data is stored locally on your device for offline-first behavior, it remains tied to your device until you delete the app, clear app data, or sync/remove it through supported account features.
3. How We Use Data
- Create and manage user accounts.
- Store pet profiles and user preferences.
- Run pet mood, food, and related analysis features you explicitly use.
- Sync data between your device and cloud services when cloud sync is enabled.
- Process subscriptions, restores, entitlement checks, and premium feature access.
- Improve feature quality, reliability, safety, and performance.
- Provide support, troubleshooting, fraud prevention, and abuse monitoring.
4. Cloud Services and Third Parties
We use third-party infrastructure providers to operate parts of the service.
- Firebase services may be used for authentication, cloud data storage, configuration, analytics, and related backend support.
- Google Play Billing is used for subscription products and purchase validation.
- Cloud-hosted backend services may process requests you initiate, such as account actions, rendered outputs, and analysis-related requests.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own platform terms and security controls.
5. Permissions and Device Access
The app may request device permissions only when needed for features you choose to use.
- Microphone: to record pet audio for mood and sound-related analysis.
- Camera: to scan barcodes or capture images where scanning or photo capture is supported.
- Photos / Files: to select or save pet images and generated outputs.
- Network access: to sync data, contact backend services, and verify subscriptions.
6. Data Retention
We keep data only as long as reasonably necessary for account operation, product features, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and security.
- Locally cached data may remain on your device until removed by you or replaced by app updates.
- Cloud account data may remain associated with your account until deleted, anonymized, or no longer needed for service operation.
- Billing and transaction records may be retained as required for accounting, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
7. Security Measures
- We use HTTPS and other transport security controls for data sent over the network.
- We use managed authentication and cloud access controls to reduce unauthorized access risk.
- We monitor service health, errors, and suspicious activity to maintain reliability and respond to incidents.
No system can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your device, keeping your account credentials private, and using secure networks where possible.
8. Your Choices and Rights
- You can review and change profile and settings data you enter in the app.
- You can decline optional permissions, but some features may stop working.
- You can stop using cloud-linked features by signing out or avoiding cloud sync features.
- You can contact us to request deletion or review of account-linked personal data, subject to legal or operational retention obligations.
9. Children's Privacy
The service is intended for pet owners and general users, not for children to use independently. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children in violation of applicable law.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app, legal requirements, or service providers change. The most current version will be posted at this URL. Continued use of the service after updates means you accept the revised policy.
